Navy Chief Urges Accelerated Development of Stealth Fighter

Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Daryl Caudle emphasized the need for an accelerated F/A-XX program due to the rapid spread of advanced anti-aircraft systems. The Navy aims to develop a stealth fighter with capabilities such as advanced stealth, range, and electronic warfare. Breaking Defense reports that the Pentagon has allocated $897 million for the program, which will be used to award a development contract aimed at achieving accelerated Initial Operational Capability. Caudle’s comments come amid concerns about the growing threat posed by Iran and other non-peer adversaries.
