UK Ministry of Defence Awards BAE Systems £454 Million Deal for Eurofighter Typhoon Combat Jet Radars

The UK Ministry of Defence has awarded BAE Systems a £454 million contract for production of new Eurofighter Typhoon combat jet radars. The deal marks a major step forward in the Royal Air Force’s (RAF) Typhoon capability, with entry to service expected by the end of the decade. Industry partner Leonardo will produce the sensor from its facilities in Edinburgh and Luton, while BAE’s Lancashire site will assist with aircraft integration. This award follows several years of development and testing, and sits under the wider £2.35 billion Eurofighter upgrade launched by the UK in 2022.
