Seattle-Based Carrier Expands Fleet and Enhances Long-Haul Operations
Alaska Airlines has placed a record order with Boeing for 105 additional 737 MAX 10 aircraft, bringing its total order book for this model to 174 units. The airline also ordered five B787 widebody airliners for an undisclosed amount. This deal coincides with the 60th anniversary of Alaska Airlines’ first Boeing aircraft order and marks a significant expansion of the carrier’s fleet. AeroTime reports that the new aircraft will be used to strengthen Alaska Airlines’ long-haul operations to Europe and Asia, following the launch of a dozen new routes from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in 2025.
