Electric Aircraft Developer Unveils Final Prototype Ahead of Commercial Launch

Vertical Aerospace has completed its third and final full-scale prototype aircraft, which will start piloted flight testing in January 2026. The aircraft is an exact duplicate of Vertical’s current full-scale prototype, undergoing transition flight testing at the UK Flight Test Centre. As part of its certification program, Vertical plans to build seven Valo certification aircraft in the UK. The company will also begin a US tour with Valo in 2026, starting in New York City in January. According to AeroTime, CEO Stuart Simpson emphasized the importance of closing out the prototype flight test program and maintaining momentum towards commercialization.
