Golden Dome Initiative Expands With Diverse Vendor Pool

The US Missile Defense Agency has selected 1,014 companies to participate in the Scalable Homeland Innovative Enterprise Layered Defense program, a contract vehicle valued at up to $151 billion. The program, known as SHIELD, is expected to underpin the Golden Dome missile defense effort, introduced earlier this year. SHIELD will provide the agency with a pool of companies to tap for individual requirements, with all work awarded through separate task-order competitions. The program runs through December 2035 and allows performance at sites across the United States. This development was first reported by AeroTime.
