Industry Urges Trump Administration to Streamline Defense Acquisitions
The Aerospace Industries Association has urged the Trump administration to make more aggressive changes to the federal acquisition process. The organization argues that current requirements for cost and pricing data are overly burdensome and lead to companies choosing not to work with the government. In a letter to the Office of Management and Budget, AIA recommended streamlining regulations on allowable costs and cost and pricing data. Breaking Defense reports that the administration has taken significant steps to reform the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) but could ‘go farther’ to achieve President Trump’s vision of faster acquisitions and better results.
