Textron Aviation Names Justin Salmans Senior Vice President of Supply Chain

Textron Aviation has announced the appointment of Justin Salmans as senior vice president, Supply Chain, marking his return to the organization. In this newly emphasized leadership role, Salmans will oversee production, aftermarket, and defense procurement operations for Textron Aviation, Textron Aviation Defense, and affiliated companies.

The announcement reflects growing industry focus on supply chain resilience and capacity as the aerospace sector navigates unprecedented challenges. Salmans brings extensive expertise to address these critical operational areas during a transformative period for aviation manufacturing.

Salmans’ career spans more than 30 years, with 20 years of specialized aerospace experience. His background includes significant leadership roles in business development, manufacturing, and supply chain management at industry leaders GE Aircraft Engines and Spirit Aerosystems. He initially joined the Cessna team in 2011, where he led the integration into Textron Aviation—experience that positions him well to navigate complex organizational structures.

Most recently, Salmans served as Chief Procurement Officer at Bass Pro Shops, where he successfully led the integration of Cabela’s operations—demonstrating his capability to manage large-scale procurement and integration challenges across diverse business units.

Beyond operational expertise, Salmans holds professional certifications as a Six Sigma Black Belt and Lean Manufacturing leader, methodologies essential for optimizing aerospace manufacturing processes. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Baker University and a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Kansas State University.

The appointment underscores Textron Aviation’s commitment to strengthening supply chain operations as the defense and commercial aviation sectors experience sustained demand.
