Taiwanese Carrier Expands Southeast Asian Network Amid Growing Economic Ties
STARLUX Airlines has resumed daily nonstop service between Taipei’s Taoyuan International Airport and Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport, marking a significant expansion of the Taiwanese carrier’s Southeast Asian network. The route, operated by Airbus A321neo aircraft, adds to STARLUX’s 23 weekly flights to the Philippines, including existing services to Cebu International Airport and Clark International Airport. The airline’s CEO, Glenn Chai, cited growing economic ties and labor migration as key drivers of the expansion. The move is seen as a strategic addition to STARLUX’s route map, enhancing network flexibility and promoting economic, cultural, and tourism exchanges between Taiwan and the Philippines.
