Spanish Government Seeks to Modernize Defense Assets with Large-Scale Helicopter Purchase
Spain has agreed to purchase 100 Airbus helicopters worth an estimated €4.5 billion, including 50 new H145M aircraft for its army. The order is part of a national helicopter plan aimed at modernizing local defense assets. Deliveries are expected to start in 2027. According to Breaking Defense, the Spanish Ministry of Defense did not respond to a request for comment by press time. Airbus plans to deliver the collection of H135 helicopters in 2027 and develop its Albacete facility into a center of expertise for digital capabilities.
