Russia Expands Domestic Capabilities in Civil Aviation
The Federal Air Transport Agency in Russia has approved a Tu-214 aircraft modified with domestically produced systems and components. United Aircraft Corporation confirmed the approval, which opens the door for serial production and delivery to Russian airlines. The first eight planes will be built in 2026, followed by 12 in 2027, and 20 per year thereafter. The move reflects Russia’s efforts to reduce dependence on foreign technology and increase domestic production.
