Qatar Airways Unveils Formula 1 Livery on B777 Designed by Swizz Beatz
Qatar Airways marked the conclusion of the Qatar Grand Prix weekend with a groundbreaking debut: a Formula 1-themed Boeing 777 livery designed by Grammy-winning artist and producer Swizz Beatz. The aircraft, registered A7-BEG, made its official appearance during celebrations at Lusail International Circuit, combining the worlds of motorsports, music, and aviation in an unprecedented collaboration.
The livery unveiling took place during a star-studded launch event at the Qatar Airways Hangar, featuring celebrity appearances including David Beckham, Jessica Alba, Rio Ferdinand, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and tennis champion Novak Djokovic. Comedian Kevin Hart provided entertainment by performing as a Formula 1 driver, adding theatrical flair to the proceedings.
Prior to the official reveal, thousands of spectators witnessed a spectacular flypast over the Lusail circuit. The aircraft was equipped with Starlink high-speed gate-to-gate Wi-Fi, enabling live broadcast capability during the flight. Media and invited guests aboard the aircraft received an exclusive first preview of the new design, combining cutting-edge connectivity with premium aviation experiences.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer emphasized the significance of the moment: “This weekend, Qatar Airways brought together innovation and passion by engaging with leading forces in the fields of sport and arts to offer an unmatched community experience.” He noted that the flypast became the most tracked flight on Flightradar24 for an entire 24-hour cycle, demonstrating unprecedented global engagement.
The newly-designed aircraft will tour major global destinations throughout winter, including London-Heathrow Airport (LHR), Melbourne Airport (MEL), New York’s JFK, and Tokyo Narita Airport (NRT). This strategic deployment ensures international visibility for the livery across key aviation hubs.
The announcement comes as Qatar Airways continues its reign as Skytrax’s World’s Best Airline for the ninth consecutive year in 2025. The airline serves as Title Partner of Formula One, leveraging this partnership to create innovative marketing experiences that resonate with global audiences.
