Pilatus Aircraft Strengthens Global Production with Seville Facility Opening

Pilatus Aircraft has officially opened Pilatus Aircraft Ibérica SA, a new production facility located near Seville, Spain, representing a major strategic expansion for the Swiss aircraft manufacturer. The facility addresses the company’s capacity constraints at its headquarters in Stans, Switzerland, as demand for its flagship PC-12 and PC-24 business aircraft continues to surge.

Production operations at the Seville facility have been underway since early 2025, with the manufacturing footprint already expanding. Currently, the facility produces structural assemblies for the PC-24 and wiring harnesses for the PC-12, with plans to commence PC-12 structural manufacturing in early 2026. The phased approach demonstrates Pilatus’s methodical scaling strategy while maintaining quality standards.

The facility currently employs approximately 75 staff members, with further recruitment planned throughout the coming year. This expansion represents significant job creation and economic development for the Andalusia region, leveraging Spain’s robust aviation heritage and skilled workforce.

Pilatus CEO Markus Bucher highlighted the strategic rationale behind the expansion: “To meet the growing demand for our aircraft, we decided to open a facility in Seville. Spain has a long aviation tradition, an excellent network of subcontractors and suppliers, outstanding educational institutions, highly qualified professionals, and an attractive investment environment.”

The official opening ceremony reflected the significance of the Swiss-Spanish partnership, featuring traditional alphorns and Spanish guitars symbolizing the cultural bridge between nations. Government dignitaries attending included Victoria Vallecillos Gómez, Managing Director; Juan Manuel Moreno, President of the Regional Government of Andalusia; and María Amparo Valcarce García, Secretary of State for Defense. The Spanish Air Force’s Formación Mirlo aerobatic team conducted a dramatic flyover demonstration of the PC-21, showcasing Pilatus’s advanced aviation capabilities.

This expansion underscores Pilatus’s confidence in the business aviation market’s trajectory and its commitment to international manufacturing partnerships. The Seville facility positions Pilatus to sustain production momentum while maintaining its reputation for precision engineering and quality aircraft manufacturing.
