Pentagon Rolls Out GenAI Platform to All Personnel

Defense Department Launches AI-Driven Website for Military and Contractors

The Pentagon has launched GenAi.mil, a new website offering generative AI tools to all three million personnel. The first AI available on the site is Google’s Gemini, capable of handling highly sensitive but unclassified information. According to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, ’the future of American warfare is here, and it’s spelled AI.’ Under Secretary for Research and Engineering Emil Michael aims to grow GenAi.mil to offer several frontier AI capabilities, including those for classified data. Breaking Defense reports that the Department plans to start innovating with AI on desktops by the end of this week.
