Airliner Expands Fleet Amidst Ongoing Modernization Program

Malaysia Airlines has welcomed its ninth Airbus A330neo aircraft, which touched down at Kuala Lumpur International Airport on December 21, 2025. The aircraft will be deployed on routes including Bali, Melbourne, Sydney, Auckland, and Tokyo as the airline works toward operating the youngest widebody fleet into Australasia by Q1 2026. This delivery is part of Malaysia Aviation Group’s expanded widebody fleet strategy, which includes a firm order for 20 additional A330-900 aircraft. The airline has initially selected 20 aircraft under its widebody fleet renewal program and now plans to deploy the A330neo on these routes.
