Global Airline Industry Sees Record High Passenger Load Factors
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) expects airlines worldwide to achieve a net profit of $41 billion in 2026, with an average margin of 3.9% on total revenue of $1.053 trillion. This forecast was shared during the IATA Media Day in Geneva, where Chief Economist Marie Owens Thomsen highlighted the industry’s relatively low profit margins compared to other sectors.
