Indian Manufacturer Takes Step into Civil Helicopter Market with Advanced Technology
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has completed the first flight of its Dhruv New Generation (NG) multi-role helicopter, marking a key step in the Indian manufacturer’s push into the civil helicopter market. The helicopter features advanced technology and is intended for various roles including passenger transport and emergency medical services. According to AeroTime, HAL received certification from the Indian Directorate General of Civil Aviation for indigenous production of the Shakti civil engine during the first flight event. The company plans to deploy eight Dhruv NG helicopters for logistics operations at the Bombay High offshore oil and gas field.
