Germany's Naval Upgrade to Enhance Anti-Surface Capabilities
The German Navy has welcomed its first NH90 Sea Tiger helicopter delivery at Nordholz air station, marking a significant upgrade in anti-surface and anti-submarine warfare capability. Airbus Helicopters handed over the aircraft on behalf of joint venture NH Industries (NHI), manufacturer of the rotorcraft. According to Breaking Defense, Cpt. Broder Nielsen, commander of German naval aviation Nordholz, noted that the new helicopter will be a major improvement in capacity and will enable the service to engage in surface warfare for the first time in two decades.
