Start-up EVIO Enters Spotlight with 76-Seat Regional Airliner
EVIO, backed by Boeing, has launched its 76-seat hybrid-electric airliner, the EVIO 810, with 450 conditional purchase agreements. The aircraft is designed for the 50- to 100-seat market and will enter service in the early 2030s. Pratt & Whitney Canada is leading propulsion system development, and Boeing has taken a small investment stake in the company. The EVIO 810 aims to reduce emissions and operating costs for regional airlines. This marks a significant entry for EVIO, a start-up that has been working on the design for several years. The company’s leadership team includes experienced aerospace veterans from Airbus and Lockheed Martin.
