Pentagon Urges Companies to Prepare for Mandatory Compliance with Section 1268 and 1286 Provisions
The DoD is urging companies in the defense industrial base to start planning now for a 2027 mandate that their products be free of parts from certain Chinese companies. Assistant Secretary of Defense for Industrial Base Policy Michael Cadenazzi warned companies connected to banned Chinese parts under Section 1268 to remove those connections and identify new suppliers. The Pentagon has created tools to help companies track second and third level suppliers and qualify new ones, but the deadline is expected to be painful for companies that do not comply.
