Aircraft Manufacturers Integrate Thousands Of New Employees And Assets
Boeing and Airbus have finalized significant purchases of Spirit AeroSystems assets, integrating thousands of new employees and reshaping commercial aircraft production. Boeing’s acquisition includes Spirit’s commercial operations, including fuselages for the 737 program and major structures for the 767, 777, and 787 Dreamliner. Airbus has taken over Spirit sites across four countries, adding production of fuselage sections, wings, and other components for the A220, A320, and A350 programs. The transactions mark the effective end of Spirit AeroSystems as an independent aerostructures supplier, according to AeroTime.
