Carrier Shuffles Fleet Amid Airbus A320 Family Shift
Austrian Airlines has retired its first Embraer E195, marking the beginning of a fleet rollover that will see the carrier transition to Airbus A320 family jets. The airline plans to sell four of the remaining 17 aircraft externally and deploy six new A320neo aircraft starting in summer 2026. Austrian Airlines’ COO Stefan-Kenan Scheib expressed gratitude for the team’s efforts in completing the fleet rollover safely and efficiently. AeroTime reports that this move is part of a broader effort to modernize its long-haul fleet with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners.
