Army Opens Solicitation for Second-Generation PNT System, Requests IP from Prime Contractors
The US Army has released a request for information for the second-generation MAPS Gen II system, which requires prime contractors to hand over their intellectual property. The system is designed to provide position, navigation and timing data for ground vehicles in GPS denied environments. Collins Aerospace currently holds the contract, but the Army is seeking new vendors willing to share their technical documentation and software source code. Responses are due January 19.
