American Airlines has debuted its first Airbus A321XLR flight, marking a significant milestone for the carrier. The aircraft features American’s Flagship Suite, Premium Economy, and main cabin seating configurations. In conjunction with the A321XLR launch, the airline announced 15 new routes for 2026 expansion, including service to Edinburgh, Scotland; Boston-Los Angeles; and JFK-San Francisco. According to AeroTime, CEO Heather Garboden emphasized the importance of premium design details and comfort on transcontinental flights. The airline plans to deploy the A321XLR on more than 500 daily departures from Chicago O’Hare Airport next summer.
