American Airlines has acquired a minority stake in Republic Airways Holdings, following the merger with Mesa Airlines in November 2025. The airline received approximately 9.7 million shares, representing about 20.8% ownership. Republic and Mesa operate the world’s largest fleet of Embraer regional jets, with nearly 300 aircraft.
