Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing Aircraft Takes to the Skies
AIR has unveiled the first production unit of its electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft, the AIR ONE, featuring optimized battery integration and a larger cargo bay. The aircraft will undergo flight demonstrations and certification efforts in the US, with the next units being sent to the country. The production airframe is for the cargo version of the aircraft, capable of carrying a 550 lb. payload. This marks a significant step forward for AIR, which has been conducting flight tests in the US since receiving an experimental airworthiness certificate from the FAA. The company has also announced a $23 million Series A funding round and the creation of a new development and manufacturing center in central Israel.
