New Unit Expands Cyber Capabilities For Operational Commanders
The Air Force Reserve is set to stand up its first cyber operations squadron dedicated to offensive cyber operations, as well as a fourth Combat Communications Squadron for global deployments. The new units aim to address operational commanders’ requests for greater cyber and comms capability, and will be based at Joint Base San Antonio. The initiative comes as the Air Force Reserve seeks to retain highly trained cyber professionals who are leaving active duty. The news was first reported by Breaking Defense.
