AerCap Expands ACMI Fleet with Boeing 777-300ERSF Conversion

AerCap has delivered the first of three Boeing 777-300ERSF converted aircraft to Fly Meta, a Hong Kong-based aviation leasing and ACMI/CMI solutions provider. The aircraft will be managed under a Crew Maintenance and Insurance (CMI) agreement by Air Atlanta Icelandic. AerCap’s Head of Cargo, Rich Greener, praised the partnership and the benefits of the Boeing 777-300ERSF, which offers significant cost efficiencies and superior range. The second and third deliveries are planned for Q2 and Q4 2026. AerCap Cargo was first to deliver the aircraft type between the Asia-Pacific and EMEA regions. The aircraft received certification from the FAA and CAA International in August 2025 and began service in mid-September. This marks the first time the Boeing 777-300ERSF has been used in this configuration, and it is the inaugural passenger-to-freighter conversion program for the Boeing 777-300ER. AerCap Cargo’s partnership with Fly Meta and Air Atlanta Icelandic may indicate a growing trend in the use of converted freighters, which could benefit the aviation industry as a whole.
