ZeroAvia Secures €21.4m Grant for Hydrogen-Electric Aircraft Project

ZeroAvia to Introduce Zero-Emission Hydrogen Aircraft in Norway

ZeroAvia has been selected for a €21.4m grant from the EU Innovation Fund to support the introduction of hydrogen-electric aircraft in Norway. The project will retrofit 15 Cessna Caravan aircraft with ZeroAvia’s ZA600 engines and establish hydrogen refuelling and storage infrastructure at 15 airports. Operations are planned to start in 2028. The European Commission has recognized hydrogen-electric aviation as a strategic technology, and ZeroAvia’s project aims to validate the technical performance and economic case for this technology. This is one of the world’s largest funding programs for demonstration of innovative low-carbon technologies. AeroTime.
