Norway Airline Prepares for Zero-Emission Flights with EU Funding
ZeroAvia has been awarded €21.4m by the EU Innovation Fund to develop a hydrogen-electric aircraft network in Norway. The project will support the retrofit of 15 Cessna Caravan aircraft with ZeroAvia’s ZA600 engines and establish hydrogen refuelling and storage infrastructure at 15 airports. Operations are planned to commence in 2028, marking a significant step towards zero-emission commercial flights. According to AeroTime, this initiative may set a precedent for the introduction of hydrogen-electric aircraft in Europe.
