Service Tries to Balance Speed and Capability in Acquisition Reform Efforts

The Space Force is pushing to accelerate its acquisition cycles, but needs to figure out how to define acceptable risks. Maj. Gen. Stephen Purdy said reducing testing requirements and cutting time will be key elements of the reform efforts. The goal is to deliver some capability incrementally, improving on existing capabilities. However, there’s a need for discussion on operator side and requirements side to ensure these systems produce guaranteed results.
