Saudi Arabia Expands Aviation Industry as Part of Vision 2030
Saudi Arabia is planning to launch two new airlines to complement its existing carriers, as part of its Vision 2030 project. The new airlines will operate to various destinations, with the first low-cost airline expected to have a 45-strong fleet by 2030. The second airline is expected to focus on religious tourism. Arabian Gulf Business Insight reported that Fahd Hamidaddin, CEO of the Saudi Tourism Authority, revealed details of the plan at the Cityscape Global real estate conference. The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has confirmed the selection of Air Arabia as the partner for the new low airline.
