Qantas Introduces Premium Economy Option for Domestic and Short-Haul Flights

Qantas has introduced a new cabin product called Economy Plus, offering more legroom and perks on domestic and short-haul international routes. The new seating option will be available on Qantas’s Airbus A321XLR, A220, and Boeing 737 fleet, starting in February 2026. Frequent flyers will receive complimentary access to Economy Plus seats, while others can purchase them. The rollout comes as part of Qantas’s fleet renewal program, which includes 48 next-generation A321XLR aircraft on order. CEO Vanessa Hudson said the new product provides more options for travelers and rewards frequent flyers with expanded benefits.
