European Missile Defense Giant Expands Presence in Middle East

MBDA, a European missile defense giant, plans to establish a new wholly-owned subsidiary in the UAE to develop loitering munitions and missiles. The subsidiary will leverage the UAE’s mature industrial capability and partner with local firms like EDGE Group and Calidus to integrate systems on their platforms. The move is expected to increase MBDA’s presence in the Middle East and strengthen its position as a long-term industrial partner of the UAE. This is the first time MBDA will operate outside of Europe, and the company expects to finalize the development of the loitering munition within the next two years.
