US and German Defense Giants Unite for Global Maritime Air Defense
Lockheed Martin and Diehl Defence have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to cooperate on maritime air defense capabilities. The partnership aims to integrate Diehl’s guided missile and ground-based air defense systems with Lockheed’s IAMD capabilities. The firms will address two separate projects and explore how to integrate their systems for navies around the world. The partnership was signed in Berlin by Helmut Rauch, CEO of Diehl Defence, and Chandra Marshall, Vice President at Lockheed Martin. The collaboration is seen as a win-win situation for both companies, with Lockheed Martin’s CEO describing it as a ‘big deal’ for Diehl Defence.
