US Air Force Approves L3Harris Viper Shield Electronic Warfare System

L3Harris has announced that its F-16 electronic warfare system, Viper Shield, has been cleared for low-rate production by the US Air Force. The company plans to deliver the first batch of systems in December 2026, with a total of 219 systems on order. L3Harris is also exploring opportunities to offer Viper Shield as an internal system or pod for other aircraft, and has signed a memorandum of understanding with EDGE Group to explore defense technology solutions in the UAE.
