Joby Aviation and RTA Achieve Historic Milestone in Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing Aerial Taxi

Joby Aviation, in partnership with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai, has successfully completed the first crewed electric aerial taxi flight between two different locations in the UAE. The inaugural flight took place on November 16, 2025, and marked a significant milestone for the company. Joby plans to begin carrying passengers in 2026, with the service aiming to provide a fast and convenient way to travel between major cities in Dubai. The RTA has announced plans to expand the necessary ground infrastructure for aerial mobility, including the construction of vertiports to support the aerial taxi service.
