Joby Aviation Takes to the Skies with Electric Aerial Taxi Service

Joby Aviation, in partnership with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai, has successfully completed the first crewed electric aerial taxi flight between Dubai Jetman Helipad and Al Maktoum International Airport. The flight, which lasted 17 minutes, marks a major milestone in the development of Joby’s eVTOL technology. The company plans to increase flight test operations in Dubai and begin carrying passengers in 2026, with the goal of providing a fast and convenient way to travel between major cities across the country. The RTA has announced plans to expand the necessary ground infrastructure for aerial mobility, including the construction of vertiports to support the aerial taxi service.
