Low-Cost Carrier Boosts Melbourne's Regional Gateway with New Routes
Jetstar is launching its largest expansion at Melbourne Avalon Airport, adding over 330,000 low-fare seats annually. The airline will operate five weekly round-trip flights to Bali and seven weekly round-trip flights to Adelaide, as well as increase frequencies to Brisbane. The expansion reflects continued demand for budget travel options from Melbourne’s western suburbs and regional Victoria. This is the first international service from Melbourne Avalon, according to Jetstar. The move was announced by Jetstar CEO Stephanie Tully, who described it as a ‘massive step forward’ for the airline at the airport. The expansion is expected to support the economic growth of Melbourne, Geelong, the Surf Coast, and the Bellarine Peninsula. The airline invests in major Melbourne Avalon Airport expansion with direct flights to Bali and Adelaide and more low fares seats to Brisbane. https://t.co/hIoGDb9Jgg - Jetstar Airways (@JetstarAirways) November 9, 2025
