Jetstar Expands Australian Network with New Bali Route
Jetstar will launch direct flights from Sunshine Coast Airport to Bali’s Denpasar Airport on March 25, 2026, with connections via Singapore Changi Airport. The airline will operate three weekly flights using its Airbus A321LR fleet, providing approximately 70,000 seats annually. The service represents Jetstar’s first direct connection between Sunshine Coast and Bali, and its tenth direct Australian route to the popular Indonesian destination. The airline launched a 48-hour promotional sale with one-way fares starting at $AU199 (USD $130). The route eliminates the need for Sunshine Coast residents to travel approximately 100 kilometers south to Brisbane Airport for international flights to Bali or Singapore. For inbound tourism, it creates direct access to the Sunshine Coast region without requiring transfers through Brisbane. The A321LR aircraft type is designed for extended-range operations, enabling airlines to serve longer routes with single-aisle aircraft. Jetstar CEO Stephanie Tully said the route addresses demand from regional travelers. The airline is proud to be the first carrier to connect the Sunshine Coast to Bali and Singapore. The new service follows the airline’s launch of Gold Coast-Bali flights earlier this year and becomes the fourth Bali service from Queensland. Flight schedules are designed to connect with existing Jetstar services between Bali and Singapore, allowing same-day travel from Sunshine Coast to Singapore with a stopover in Bali. The route also creates a new entry point for travelers from Singapore and Southeast Asia to reach the Sunshine Coast region. Jetstar launched a 48-hour promotional sale with one-way fares from Sunshine Coast to Bali starting at $AU199 (USD $130). The airline’s expansion may signal a growing focus on low-cost international travel in the region, as it becomes the largest carrier operating in South-East Queensland.
