flydubai Expands Fleet with Boeing 737 MAX Amid Growing Demand
flydubai has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Boeing for 75 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, with options for 75 more, during the Dubai Airshow 2025. The agreement, valued at around $13 billion, reinforces the airline’s long-standing partnership with Boeing as it accelerates its growth strategy. The MoU covers 75 firm aircraft across the 737 MAX family and includes purchase options that could bring the total to 150 jets. The airline currently operates 96 Boeing 737s, including 66 737 MAX 8s and three 737 MAX 9s. flydubai CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith emphasized the importance of proactive fleet planning in meeting future demand. The airline also announced plans to equip its fleet with high-speed in-flight internet via Starlink starting in 2026. This follows flydubai’s first Airbus narrowbody deal, announced on November 18, 2025, for up to 150 A321neo aircraft. (Credit: Boeing) Boeing remains central to fleet strategy.
