Airline Ups Widebody Capacity Amid Global Growth
Etihad Airways has unveiled a major Airbus fleet expansion at the Dubai Airshow 2025, signing commitments for 32 additional widebody aircraft and securing 13 more jets through a leasing agreement with Avolon. The airline confirmed a mix of A350-1000s, A350Fs, and A330-900s, with deliveries set to start in 2027. CEO Antonoaldo Neves cited the A350’s excellent fuel efficiency as a key factor in the decision. Etihad expects the new aircraft to support growth across Abu Dhabi and expand its medium-haul and short-haul networks.
