Ethiopian Airlines Expands Regional and International Network with Boeing 737 MAX Jets

Ethiopian Airlines has exercised an option from a previous Boeing order and purchased 11 additional Boeing 737 MAX jets on the first day of the Dubai Airshow 2025. The order is part of a previous agreement and will support the airline’s growth plans. Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mesfin Tasew confirmed the order at a press conference, stating that the airline is thrilled to be announcing the agreement with Boeing. The airline is evaluating both Boeing and Airbus widebodies as part of a future order. CDB Aviation also announced a lease agreement for two 737 MAX 8 jets, which will be delivered in the first half of 2026.
