Emirates Partners with Rolls-Royce for Enhanced Engine Maintenance Capabilities
Emirates has announced plans to establish a new Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility for its Trent 900 engines, with Rolls-Royce managing module repairs through its global network. The new facility, expected to begin operations in 2027, will be based at the Emirates Engineering Maintenance Centre (EEMC) in Dubai. The agreement follows a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Emirates and Rolls-Royce at the Dubai Airshow 2025. Emirates will also extend its TotalCare service agreement with Rolls-Royce into the 2040s. According to Emirates’ Head of Engineering and MRO, Ahmed Safa, the new facility will bring the latest engine MRO capabilities into its facilities as part of its expansion of EEMC. Rolls-Royce Director of Commercial Aviation Aftermarket Operations, Paul Keenan, described the agreement as a ‘milestone’ for the company, aiming to boost its global MRO capacity and capability by 2030.
