Red Cat's Black Widow Drone to Enable Tactical Unit-Level ISR and Light Strike Capability

Red Cat’s Black Widow Drone is designed to meet the Army’s requirements for short-range reconnaissance. The company was selected for the Short Range Reconnaissance Program and plans to deploy the drone rapidly at scale. The program represents a shift in doctrine from traditional ISR Overwatch drones to tactical unit-level ISR and light strike assets. The Army plans to field tens of thousands of drones, which could fundamentally change the nature of conflicts.
