Firefly Aerospace Achieves Historic Soft-Landing on the Moon's Surface
Firefly Aerospace’s Blue Ghost lunar lander softly touched down on the Moon’s surface on March 2, 2025, carrying 10 NASA instruments. The lander is upright and stable, and Firefly is now beginning surface operations, which will include lunar subsurface drilling, sample collection, and dust mitigation experiments. Firefly’s mission is part of NASA’s Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) initiative. The company is headquartered in central Texas and is a portfolio company of AE Industrial Partners.
