Private Space Company Secures Venture-Class Acquisition of Dedicated and Rideshare Contract

Firefly Aerospace has been awarded a fixed-price NASA contract for a dedicated Alpha launch of the Investigation of Convective Updrafts (INCUS) mission from Wallops Flight Facility. The company will provide responsive operations and mission flexibility, with the Alpha rocket supporting dedicated missions like INCUS. According to Firefly CEO Jason Kim, the company offers customers responsive operations and mission flexibility with launch sites on the East and West Coast of the United States and internationally. Once deployed, three INCUS satellites will fly in tight coordination to study tropical storms and thunderstorms. The contract is part of NASA’s Earth System Science Pathfinder program.
