Swiss Aviation Giant Joins Forces with Renewable Energy Firm to Accelerate Solar Fuel Development
Pilatus and Synhelion are collaborating to accelerate the development of solar fuels for the aviation industry. The partnership aims to replace fossil fuels with renewable energy sources, with Pilatus planning to use Synhelion’s solar fuels in its operations and offer them to customers. According to Breaking Defense, Synhelion is building the world’s first industrial solar fuel production plant in Germany, with a planned commercial launch in Spain from 2025. The partnership also sees Pilatus become a shareholder in Synhelion, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable aviation practices.
