Firefly Aerospace Adds Alpha Launch Capability at Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport

Firefly Aerospace Expands Launch Capabilities with Alpha and MLV at Virginia Spaceport

Firefly Aerospace is adding an Alpha launch capability at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport on Wallops Island, Virginia. The new launch pad will support Alpha launches in addition to Antares 330 and MLV, and will enable Firefly to operate a diverse set of launch sites. The company plans to operate a launch control center, horizontal integration facility, and administrative office space on the Eastern Shore. Firefly’s CEO, Bill Weber, cited the need for a streamlined approach to launching Alpha and MLV from one location as a key factor in the decision. The Virginia Spaceport Authority has welcomed Firefly to the region, with Governor Glenn Youngkin expressing support for the company’s growth and development.
