Purdue-Led Consortium Receives $100M Contract Expansion
The Department of Defense has increased funding for a microelectronics workforce development program contract to more than $100 million, according to Purdue University. The Scalable Asymmetric Lifecycle Engagement consortium, led by Purdue, will use the funds to support workforce development in microelectronics design and manufacturing, with a focus on non-traditional students and defense internships. The program aims to address national security needs and has already shown significant return on investment, with over 1,000 students currently enrolled and nearly 350 alumni placed in defense microelectronics jobs.
