US Spy Agency Expands Use of Private Sector Earth Observation
The National Reconnaissance Office has selected EarthDaily Analytics, Iceye, and Pixxel to expand its use of commercial Earth observation data. The partnerships, announced under the Commercial Solutions Opening program, aim to integrate private sector capabilities into intelligence operations. The NRO is seeking to combine different sensing approaches, including hyperspectral imaging, synthetic aperture radar, and optical and multispectral data. The agency has also established a three-tier cybersecurity classification system for vendors, according to SpaceNews.
